Why Griha Pravesh is Essential
A house is made of bricks, but a home is made of positive energy. The land on which the house is built might have historical negative energies, or the construction process might have caused the death of small insects, creating micro-doshas.
The Griha Pravesh ritual purifies the five elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Space) of the house and aligns them with the cosmic energy, ensuring the residents live in harmony, health, and wealth.
The Griha Pravesh Process
A comprehensive 4 to 5-hour ritual.
Step 1: Gau Pravesh
Bringing a cow and calf into the house first, as they are considered highly auspicious and purifying.
Step 2: Dwar Pujan & Kalash Sthapana
Worshipping the main entrance and placing a copper pot filled with water and mango leaves.
Step 3: Vastu Shanti & Navgraha Hawan
Fire rituals to appease the Vastu Purush (God of the building) and the nine planets.
Step 4: Satyanarayan Katha
Reciting the story of Lord Vishnu to bring prosperity and truth into the household.
Step 5: Kuldevi/Kuldevta Pujan
Worshipping the family deity for their eternal protection.
