What is Mangal Bhaat Puja and Who Should Do It?
Mangal Dosh (or being Manglik) is one of the most feared astrological conditions in Hindu marriages. It occurs when the planet Mars is placed in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house of the birth chart. The primary effects of this dosh are aggressive behavior, unexplained arguments, and severe delays or obstacles in marriage.
Fortunately, ancient texts prescribe a highly effective remedy: Mangal Bhaat Puja. What makes this puja unique is where it must be performed. The Mangalnath Temple in Ujjain is universally recognized in the Matsya Purana as the exact birthplace of the planet Mars.
During the Bhaat Puja, a special Shivling in the temple is worshipped. The core of the ritual involves offering cooked rice (Bhaat) mixed with curd and honey to the Shivling. Rice represents the Moon (peace and coolness), which calms the fiery, aggressive nature of Mars.
This cooling process completely pacifies the Mangal Dosh. Thousands of devotees who were struggling to find a suitable life partner have reported successful marriages shortly after performing this sacred ritual in Ujjain.
It is highly recommended to perform it under the guidance of experienced Vedic scholars to ensure traditional red or yellow clothes are worn and all mantras are pronounced correctly during the puja.
